Introduction to Board Chairman

Mr. Chen Wenting, co-founder and board chairman of Laviana Pharma, graduated from Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University and Department of Chemistry, New Mexico State University.

With 30+ years of R&D and process experience, he has been engaged in medicinal chemistry and synthetic chemical process research with long-term management experience in new drug research and development. He is the lead inventor of fifteen international invention patents for innovative drugs for antidepressants and metabolic disease drugs, of which Caplyta has been approved for marketing by the US FDA as an innovative drug for FIC in December 2019. Prior to founding Laviana Pharma as a co-founder, he worked in the R&D departments of SmithKline Beecham, DuPont-Merck, DuPont Pharmaceuticals and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
